Richard Simmons (no... not that one) gave television it's first look at the law-enforcing style of the Royal Canadian Mounted police at work in Alaska. Simmons portrays the fearless Sergeant Preston who spends his time patrolling the wilds of the Yukon Territory during the turn-of-the-century chaos that accompanied the gold rush era. Ably assisted by his horse, Rex, and his loyal Canadian husky dog, Yukon King, the beloved Sgt. Preston brings law and order to a time and place where little existed.
