Schultze has spent his whole life in a small town in East Germany. Schultze's life, divided between work and the pub, folk music (he is a passionate Polka musician on his accordion) and fishing, is rudely interrupted when he and his mates Manfred and Jurgen lose their jobs. Entropy sets in and maintaining the daily routine deteriorates into a farce. One night he listens to a Zydeco tune on the radio, which changes his taste in music radically. Notwithstanding his complete ignorance of the English language, he starts a trip into the heart of the Zydeco, to Louisiana.
