One man rekindles his passion for life with the help of an alluring French neighbor and an inquisitive young girl. Jack (Bob Hoskins, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Mona Lisa) faces a time of loss and personal challenge until a ray of sunshine arrives in the unlikely form of eight-year-old Florrie. She moves in next door delighting in Jack's neglected racing pigeons. Meanwhile, his glamorous French neighbor, Stephanie (Josiane Balasko, Absolutely Fabulous) takes pity on him and Jack cannot help but fall for her charms. Can he fight to redeem himself and win Stephanie's love?
