Burnt Friedman quickly follows his Con Ritmo album with a second full-length that bundles tracks from his Love Songs EP onto a CD with a scattering of new material. Although the Henry Lee Lucas vocals on 'Sex Is Not Right' and the dirty talk of 'Sex Working Class' push the idea of a love song to tenuous lengths, the album plays host to some of Friedman's most accessible material to date and reaffirms his position as a producer to watch. The vocoder sounds of 'I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm' are a delight, while Black Sifichi's vocal turns 'Tongs of Love' into an edgy piece, begging for visual accompaniment. Nonplace. 2001.
