In December 2001 the city of Genoa, Italy, invited Regina Carter to be the first jazz violinist ever to perform on it's priceless 1743 Guarneri violin which once belonged to the celebrated baroque violinist, Nicolo Paganini. The event caused a sen sation in the press, attracting features in O Maga zine, the New York Times, and 60 Minutes II.
