Characterized by brilliant lyrics and music in traditional Rodgers & Hart style, On Your Toes made history as the 1st to incorporate ballet into a musical comedy; material from the show also did very well on it's own - "Glad To Be Unhappy" became a hit for The Mamas & The Papas and "There's A Small Hotel" became a pop standard of the time. A smash Broadway success (which enjoyed 315 runs when it debuted in '36), this musical has survived changes in fads and fashions, and is as vigorous today as when it debuted over 60 years ago.
