Laurie Dutton - My Delight

Laurie's story is pretty unusual. She did not intend to write and record her own music. But over time, working year in and year out in her local church music ministry, she became acutely aware that there is a great need for good music with solid biblical lyrics. She explains, 'In our music ministries, it seems we remain in a continual search mode for music that is fresh and well written, yet solidly biblical in it's message. Often this is hard to find. Combining these two elements was my goal in writing the songs for 'My Delight.'' The project was originally intended to be a book only. Laurie saw this need because 'it seems that every time I would sing one of my songs in church, I would be asked for a copy of the music. It became clear to me that publishing the songs in book form was a stewardship issue. Originally, this was my only goal with the music. But over time I was encouraged again and again to record. After much prayer and counsel, this dream became a reality. I hope these songs are a blessing to many and that God is greatly glorified!'
