I've always been fascinated by the effects of music on people and soon became curious as to how classical music (in particular) affects pets - especially those that suffer from anxiety. Many studies have shown that pets respond favorably to classical music in stressful situations and often relax after only a few minutes of listening; However, it is important to use music that maintains a soothing dynamic from start to finish, which is NOT the case with most "off-the-shelf" classical music; however, Music My Pet provides continuous soothing sounds to calm dogs, cats, birds and all other pets (we've even had some customers use our music to calm anxious guinea pigs, rabbits, snakes and, believe it or not, a pet skunk!) In achieving this soothing dynamic throughout our music, we've spent over three years gathering research and establishing a very careful selection process (with regard to music) to arrive at a series of three CDs, all of which provide relaxing music for dogs, cats, birds and other pets. As a follow-up to Classic Cuts, pets and pet owners will enjoy our latest title - Mellow Melodies, which explores additional composers (Mozart, Grieg, Tchaikovsky and many others) utilizing the same soothing approach found in Classic Cuts. All selections have been re-orchestrated and arranged using the sounds, chords and harmonies that soothe pets - and their owners! As a suggestion, play Music My Pet whenever a situation arises that may cause your pet to become stressed. For best results, listen at a relatively low volume and select the "continuous play " or "random play" button on your CD player (or MP3 player) - this will effectively repeat the program until you wish to manually stop the music.
