F. Liszt - Faust Symphony

Daniel Barenboim's "outsized podium personality" is an excellent match for the heroic playing of the Berlin Philharmonic and for the music of the arch-Romantic Franz Liszt. This Teldec release of the remarkable tour de force symphony is the official recording of the 1999 celebrations of Weimer as cultural capital of Europe. The contribution of the indefatigable Placido Domingo in the tenor part adds still more significance to this landmark release.
