2010 sophomore album from the Scottish Indie outfit. Not content to rest on their laurels as also-rans, the Edinburgh-based collective are quickly back with this second album that grows and expands their portfolio. 'A Leaving Song' is a perfect introduction, melding Jamie Sutherland's yearning vocals with the band's trademark spiraling sonic workouts. This, you would think given previous form, heralds an all-out guitars-and-cello attack but Let Me Come Home is more than just a rehash of it's predecessor. Conceived as a series of fragmentary sketches and built on in demo sessions, Let Me Come Home is a strident, affecting album that should lift Broken Records to new heights and quickly dispel casual Arcade Fire comparisons. 4AD.
