Anthony Jackson - Interspirit

2010 solo release from bass legend Anthony Jackson and the eighth recording from Yiorgos Fakanas. The eight compositions/arrangements on this album, actually have as their central axiom the catalytic presence of Jackson's sound and playing. This magnificent player realizes his first personal project, with Yiorgos's compositions of contemporary chamber music utilizing a rhythm section, horn section and string quintet. Each of them playing with two different basses throughout the whole album, create an incredible bass duo, over which some of the world's best players add their art: Dave Weckl, Frank Gambale, Mitch Forman, Tony Lakatos, Mihail Iossifov, Takis Paterelis, Andonis Andreou, Manos Theodosakis, Enrique Bu, Vladimir Stoyianov, Teodor Tachev and a string quartet.
