'This S. F. bay area artist debut release is a refreshingly unique blend of blues, rock, R&B and country. From it's boot scootin' boogie dance songs to it's weepy ballads, this CD has plenty of diversity yet Mike's passionate, masterful guitar playing ties it all together in a common thread.' 'blazing guitar work and powerful vocals coupled with his strong stage presence and audience interaction to a level rarely seen' Mike is a unique blend of classic rock, blues and progressive country with a touch of funk and R&B thrown in with an occasional Celtic accent (oh, did I mention unique?). Always soulful, always danceable, always with a concert stage presence and audience interaction, the entire band delivers on multiple levels all at the same time. Description Mike Osborn is a tough character. He doesn't believe in Superman or sunshine, as evidenced by his songs "Ain't No Superman" and 'Ain't No Sunshine." Okay, actually there's only no sunshine "when she's gone," and the other song is not so much a denial of the Man of Steel's existence as a plea to his woman to ease up a little. Still, there's something raw and gritty about this Campbell bluesman that makes me think I wouldn't want to fight him. Last month he released his first CD, Fire and Fury, on which the former rockabilly and metal guitarist embraces his blues destiny in a brutal full nelson. - Steve Palopoli sanjose.com This CD was produced by J.C. Smith and recorded at Tiki studios in San Jose, Ca. The very same studio where Bill Withers recorded 'Ain't No Sunshine', so I couldn't resist doing my version and putting it on the CD. I also tipped my hat to some of my heros by covering (though very different from the original) a couple more songs. The rest of the album is comprised of original compositions and a couple covers from one of my new hero B B Chung King (Alan Mirikitani) out of L.A. who I think is one of the most talented artists i've heard in a long time.
