Singly or together, Barry Harris and Kenny Barron are spellbinders. The improvised lines they weave in this exuberant set are underpinned by strong, measured and supportive piano comping, and beside the keyboardists are the rich and rhythmic bass lines of Ray Drummond and the crisp beat and the spring accents of Ben Riley. Although a bebop celebration, the program actually contains only one bop original, Bird's "Confirmation," but here are a bunch of the standards that were played by all the modernists in the 1940s and 1950s - "Embraceable You," "All God's Children," "Body And Soul" and "East of the Sun."
