The release of The Blue Angel Lounge is special in two ways, it is the 10th realease on 8MM Musik and also it is the 1st German band signed by the label. The band was introduced to 8MM Musik, by the former Spacemen 3 bass player Will Carruthers. The label was impressed by the very unique and adult sound of the very young band (22-24 years old) from Hagen. Not only the band's name is related to the Velvet Underground, also the sound can be clearly identified. Opposite to many other bands who tried to sound like TVU, the Blue Angel manage to sound fresh, authentic and distinct. It is their juvenile lightness that allows them to mix the sound of the late sixties with nineties shoegazer and today's neoshoegazer.
