'Away From Myself' is the acoustic-rock debut album from Birmingham, Alabama based band Mile Zero. They touch on subjects and moods that we all experience. The group's appealing brand of alt/rock-acoustic instrumentation has a clean, energetic feel that is fresh and familiar while focusing on good, honest songwriting. Although the album has a smooth and easy vibe on the outside, is often lyrically introspective with a spiritual message on the inside. Their words deal with everything, from everyday issues such as love and relationships, to internal struggles and faith. Lead vocals are particularly good, with a smooth style similar to the early 1950s. The band moves along through these 12 songs with an infectous energy leaving the listener wanting more. With a mix of styles they offer an entertaining ride with a meaning.
