After 26 years of marriage, Steve Giardino (Alan Alda), an abrasive workaholic Wall Streeter and his wife Jackie (Ann-Margret) divorce and find themselves thrust back into the dating world. Middle aged and in search of a New Life, Steve tries out bar-hopping with his best friend and co-worker Mel (Hal Linden), but quickly realizes that he's outgrown the lifestyle and worries that he'll never find anyone - until he meet the beautiful Dr. Kay Hutton (Veronica Hamel) and falls heads-over-heels for her. Jackie turns to her best friend Donna (Mary Kay Place) who introduces her to a young sculptor (John Shea) - Jackie is enamored with the sculptor before his glaring faults become to much for her. Written and directed by Alan Alda (The Four Seasons).
