Back to home Lyric has been a tribe for four years blending poetry, with funky progressive roots music. This five member ensemble is fronted by Tiger Moon, a Cherokee award winning poet who has shared the stage with legends such as Arlo Guthrie, Julia Butterfly Hill, and Micheal Franti (Spearhead). Lyric incorporates into their music a political undertone with a tribal essence, drawing their audiences into their performance. The band sees every opportunity to perform as a symbol and a chance for universal voice to speak truth. Their intense ritualistic fuses attract their listeners and keeps them until the last moment. Lyric has a large and eclectic following as diverse as their music. Based out of Carbondale, IL, the band has toured throughout the Midwest at venues ranging from political events, to social awareness gatherings, to Native American seminars, to summer concert festivals and taverns. The band performs original music with occasional covers by Fleetwood Mac, Hendrix, and Bob Marley. Lyric believes that within our whole human tribe, we live in a time that resonates a lot of questions. It is important to look out for each other and always find truth in song.
