In London in 1974, Dave Stewart formed a band called Platinum Weird with his songwriting partner, muse and soul mate, Erin Grace. They enjoyed a brief period of cult-like status in London, with the likes of Mick Jagger and Elton John as both friends and fans. Elton signed the band to his Rocket label, but soon after the album was completed, Erin vanished never to be heard from again. Also during the late 70's, a young schoolgirl named Kara Dio Guardi was growing up in NY. Even in her early youth, she had a strong interest in music that was heavily encouraged by her neighbor an older woman who became her mentor in those formative years. Kara went on to become a successful songwriter in the music business, writing legendary hits for Kelly Clarkson, Ashlee Simpson, Enrique Iglesias and many others. She was then teamed up with Dave Stewart, and their creative magic was so incredible, they decided to form their own group. But was it simply magic or was it destiny? During a session, as Dave strummed an unreleased '74 Platinum Weird track on his guitar, Kara walked in and sang the chorus. As Dave and his former muse Erin were the only people who had ever heard that song, it could only mean one thing - the same Erin Grace who had disappeared, had become the mentor to Kara as a young girl. It was indeed the destiny of Platinum Weird, and the promise of it's musical legacy to reach a new generation began...
