Laura Welland is surely the only red-headed, patent-holding, engineer-pianist-trumpeter-bassist woman in town... and, she sings! With a directness reminiscient of singers like Rosemary Clooney and Irene Kral, Laura is an amalgam of all her experiences. As a bassist, she refined her timing and sense of swing, while listening to Ella set the highbar for Laura's clear enunciation. But the intensity of her singing, her genuine way with lyrics come from Laura herself - her fruitful brain, her impassioned heart, and her personal interpretation of life. Featuring the rhythm section of Bill Mays, John Clayton and Joe LaBarbera, together they glide through a set of classic tunes including "While We're Young," "Be My Love," and "I Got the Sun in the Morning."
