Cannonball Adderley was as generous as he was successful. On many occasions, he would jump start the careers of veteran artists whose careers had faded. Ernie Andrews, who'd had hits on Aladdin in the 40's and sung with Harry James was a case in point. On two occasions, in 1962 at Memory Land and 1964 at the Lighthouse, Adderley recorded matinee performances by Andrews with magnificent support by his quintet. Andrews is in great form on an excellent selection of songs by the likes of Tommy Wolf, Buddy Johnson and Oscar Brown Jr.. Added to the original album are three previously unissued selections. The original three track tapes have been remixed to 24 bit for greatly improved sound. This album is on CD for the first time.
