Innovative U.K. electronica outfit Nightmares on Wax contributes an excellent disc to the Late Night Tales series, offering a fine mix set that keeps with the funky, down-tempo vibe for which the group is known. Elements of Jazz, Soul, Hip Hop, Reggae, and Electronica rear their heads here on tunes as ostensibly different as Quincy Jones's "Listen (What Is It)" to King Kooba's spacey "California Suite" to Dusty Springfield's groove-driven "Listen". Yet N.O.W.'s sequencing and seamless transitions make this a smooth, satisfying, and eminently listenable experience.
