It's always Party Gras time when Key Lime Pie is in the house. This San Francisco band gets 'em dancing with a sound that combines New Orleans funk and Southern rock. Throw in some extended jamming, and you get the idea. Grab your beads and drink some voodoo juice, 'cause there's something for everyone: drums, percussion and bass lay down the groove, tasty electric guitar, spicy piano and swirling organ, three-part harmonies, and a splash of harmonica. It's a musical stew. Their 12-song CD, Cookin', brings elements of funk, rock, Latin, and blues together, trancending generational boundaries. In their songs, people say they hear the influences of Little Feat, the Grateful Dead, the Meters, the Neville Brothers, the Doobie Brothers and even Steely Dan. What do you think?
