Kate's goal as an artist is to challenge, inspire and empower the listener through meaningful lyrics, infectious melodies, and deep harmonic colors. The driving force behind her music is a fusion of Spirit and scripture... "My songs are essentially cries of the heart that take on various forms: questions, struggles, praises, declarations, and prophecies. The purpose behind these expressions is both to worship the Creator and to speak words of life to the creation..." Simplicity and openness of structure is emphasized so that melodic themes are clearly presented. Stylistically, the music has a gospel base with pop overtones. Unique vocal and instrumental harmonies are a trademark of Kate's music and betray jazz/R&B influences... Kate's self-titled EP was just released in June 2009. Her vision was to create a retro-soul sound on the main tracks and a contemporary rock feel on the bonus track.
