In 1990 an awesome group of anointed singers formed Renewed Voices for Christ. Brother William Smith Jr. gladly accepted the call as Minister of Music. Under his leadership, the ministry flourished and soared with a host of multi-talented, energetic, high spirited and gifted singers and musicians that loved and devoted themselves to gospel music. The Renewed Voices has been blessed to travel and perform throughout the Continental United States as well as their native Chicago land area. They have shared both stage and spotlight with some of the finest artists in the music industry. Artists such as Aretha Franklin, Mavis Staples, Richard Smallwood, Bishop Walter Hawkins, Elder DeAndre' Patterson, Kim Stratton, Evylyn Turrenteen-Agee, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Albertina Walker, Rev. Maceo Woods, Dorothy Norwood, Paul Porter & The Christianaires, The Canton Spirituals, Chicago Mass Choir, Rickey Dillard & New Gee, Malcolm Williams & Voices of Great Faith and Dr. Charles G. Hayes and The Cosmopolitan Church of Prayer Choir -'The Warriors' just to name a few. Affectionately called RVC, this singing (SANGIN') aggregation is featured monthly at the world renowned Sunday Morning Gospel Brunch held at the House Of Blues - Chicago.
