(CD with DVD) Pete Malinverni believes that Jazz and Gospel music were separated at birth. Joyful! Is the happy reconciliation of these two long-lost siblings. Malinverni has written music redolent, in the sung parts, of the soulful expressions and rhythms of Gospel while being possessed of the highest musical values, as only music played by expert jazz musicians can be. This package comprises a CD and DVD. The CD contains all the music from a 2005 live concert in New York featuring Steve Wilson, saxophone; Joe Magnarelli, trumpet; Todd Coolman, bass; Dwayne "Cook" Broadnax, drums; and Malinverni himself, composer, pianist and conductor. The DVD includes concert footage as well as extensive interviews with Pete Malinverni on the process of creating this music.
