I am enormously pleased to have completed this album for release in 2012. It represents our very best Christmas material, with a few tracks from our previous Christmas album and many new ones recorded this year. During our many Winter Tours we have loved including Christmas carols, putting more of them into the programme as we move towards Christmas. Some carols lend themselves to improvisational worship such as 'Silent Night', but for the most part we have taken traditional favourites and made them the subject of fresh arrangements. In some arrangements we have hidden delightful musical symbols of Christmas. For example, arranged into 'Joy to The World' are many themes of Handel's 'Messiah'. As we reflect on the Christmas story with it's light, laughter, depth, awe and ultimately peace, we invite all our listeners to join with us to reclaim Christmas as the season of the Prince of Peace. For many it could mean doing less and being more. For all of us it should mean letting go of the things that cause us to miss out on God's presence in this busy time of year. We share in this challenge and hope that our music will help you encounter the joy and wonder of the Prince of Peace in the loveliest of seasons. 'God bless us, one and all.'
