Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery were as influential in the '60s as they were popular. Smith brought the Hammond organ out of the chicken shacks and into mainstream Jazz; Montgomery was legendary for his choruses of octaves and of strummed chords. This production, which quickly took on legendary status, still provides one of the best examples ever of great Jazz partnership. Part of Verve's Master Edition series, this release features original art and liner notes, new essay and meticulous restoration and superior sound.
