After more than 20 years as a premiere woodwind player throughout the southwest, Jerry Donato has recorded his highly anticipated debut solo release. What makes this project so special is that Jerry enlisted pianist Pete Jolly, the West Coast jazz giant, to lend his unparalleled talents to the project. Recorded on May 17th & 18th of 2004 at Tempest Studios, sadly these are the last tracks Pete recorded before his passing in November of 2004. But this is far from a 'nostalgic' record... Donato, Jolly, Grammy Award winning arranger Bob Freedman and the great musicians on this disc combine to make this music relevant and alive to a new generation of listeners. We're confident you'll find 'It's A Cool Heat' extremely satisfying!
