Born in 1929, J.B. Lenoir began playing the blues with artists of the calibre of Elmore James, Sonny Boy Williamson, Memphis Minnie and Muddy Waters and began recording his repertoire in the early 50's as J.B. Lenoir & his Bayou Boys. The recordings presented here are of that same period, when the band featured Lenoir himself on rhythm guitar and the great Al Galvin on drums- and are certainly some of Lenoir's most creative.
