It was over two years ago since the release of Candi's brilliant early years best of on the Honest Jon's label. This compilation showcased what a classic and stylish singer Candi really was, bringer her to a new audience of soul/funk and country fans. 'His Hands' is an album of new recordings from this legendary singer recorded in Nashville last year. The album was produced by Mark Nevers (Lambchop). Will Oldham wrote the title track 'His Hands' for Candi. Barry Beckit was the MD for the project and soul fans will know that Barry was Athretha Franklin's right hand man throughout her career, he also played on most of the classic Bobby Womack albums. The album also features Chip Young who produced Elvis and also played on all Jerry Lee Lewis's records. Candi wrote half of this album. The cast is credible to say the least and alone makes it a very interesting recording.
