This album is a rare find. I don't often come across an album that is enjoyable from beginning to end. I find myself liking every tune on this disc. The songs are sweet and mature, moving and poignant. They're catchy but sophisticated. That's the sign of a great album! All of the songs on this disk are so well written. Ken has an ear for great arrangements and melodies. My current favorite is 'Safe in Your Arms.' The arrangement highlights the purity of Amy Laderoute's vocal instrument. Her voice is as sweet and pure; powerful and soulful as any in popular music. This disk is definitely worth the money. It just makes you realize that there is so much in life to appreciate! LaDéroute Bio At the center of Ken and Amy LaDéroute's spiritual union is music and meditation. After touring as professional musicians in the US and Canada for 14 years, they marry their love of music and spirituality to create a new genre of music called 'affirmation music.' Dissatisfied with religious dogma, Ken began studying Eastern spirituality and personal development at 19 years old. He read "Autobiography of Yogi," and began to follow the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. A Life-Changing Meeting In 1980, Amy auditioned for one of Ken's bands, and astounded everyone with her heartfelt, soulful voice. She got the job and a soon-to-be husband. Since that day, they have traveled North America, and do everything together. Affirmation Music In 1990, Ken and Amy settled in Western North Carolina. Burned out from the road, Ken needed time for silence and meditation. Ken decided it was time to express his devotion to consciousness, and to create his current work: "Soul Affirmation," Music for Better Outcomes. Amy is the transcendent voice of "Soul Affirmation", and through it, she reveals her devotion to humanity. LaDéroute embody the music completely. Soul Purpose Their intention is to bring a greater understanding of how humans can attain their highest potential and achieve Self-realization. Through the practice of meditation, affirmation music and inner reflection, LaDéroute creates music for your highest good. Ken and Amy reside in Asheville, NC where they teach meditation, compose music, write articles, and travel with their band.
