Her voice and life have become synonymous with the story of South Africa and, by extension, the story of the world since the end of the Second World War. Sadly she passed away on the 9th of November. With a career that has spanned more than half a century, she was known for bringing her message of 'hope, determination and song' to audiences all over the world as she revisited the countries which gave her shelter in exile, a political platform to speak from, or simply a stage to sing on.
