Two and a half years after the release of his debut, 'Songs About the Great Divide', Peter Breinholt followed up with the more developed and mature 'Heartland'. 'There's nothing sophmoric about it' wrote the Utah Daily Chronicle upon it's release in 1996. 'Heartland is polished almost to perfection.' By the time of it's recording, Breinholt's band had swelled to include bluegrass legend Ryan Shupe, piano recording artist David Tolk, and Salt Lake City staple drummer Rory Carrera - whose combined talents create a richer, fuller sound.
