' Frank Bard tells a story with his harmonica. Ranging between country blues and country western. This guitar slidin', harp wailin' instrumental soul music is easy to listen to, and hard to forget. A beutiful album for harmonica lovers!' (Jon Gindick, The world's foremost instructor of blues and country harmonica.) My name is Frank Bard. I'm a 60 year old, retired factory worker, born and raised in central Ohio. I'm married and have two grown children, a daughter, Sheryl, living in California and a son, Donald, living in Florida.I come from a predominantly rural background, and currently live on an eighty acre private nature preserve which my wife, Jill, and I have created. It has an abundance of wildlife and native vegetation. We call it Pleasant Run Prairie. My pets include three cats and two dogs. My hobbies include carpentry, fishing, bowhunting, my classic 1965 Mustang, just to mention a few, and of course music. Over the past thirty years, I've played 5 string banjo, dobro, and some harmonica in bluegrass, and country bands. I've also played a lot of southern gospel music. I've always enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music, especially all the old standards. About five years ago, I started playing cross harp style on my diatonic harmonicas, and I feel I've finally found my niche when it comes to playing the music I feel. This music recording summarizes the music I've grown to love over the years. I approached my good friend, fellow musician and record producer, Jr. Smith, with my desire to make a recording demonstrating the versatility of the harmonica. I wanted to incorporate country, standards, gospel, blues, jazz, Bluegrass and western swing into one recording. To attain this goal, we lined up six other local musicians who play a variety of music genres, resulting in a very unique sound. We all enjoyed doing this recording and hope you enjoy listening to it.
