"Cooper's Uncle was born in Austin in the spring of 2001 when guitarist Todd Michael first met Tyler Balthrop at a mutual friend's backyard barbeque. With the addition of banjoist James Dikins and bassist Brad Deggen, the band has grown into regulars at Austin clubs, bluegrass festivals and radio performances. Cooper's Uncle is carving out their own legion of devotees, and this is as good a time as any to see if you want on the bus' Austin Chronicle.
