"Grand Slam" brings together the finest work from energetic Prog Rockers, Babe Ruth's first three albums ("First Base", "Amar Caballero" and "Babe Ruth"). The album displays the band's unusual Hard Rocking style which incorporates saxophone, flute, Mellotron and Hammond organs and uses them to give the music it's Rock edge. All of these tracks were recorded between 1972 and 1975, yet there has been a resurgence in popularity in the last decade thanks to the world of breaks and beats. "The Mexican" is a huge favorite for a number of DJ's globally, so much so that Babe Ruth reformed for a one off performance at the DMC World B-Boy Championships in London 2003 where the crowd went wild to hear them play these tracks live and the stage was crowded with breakers!
