In making their second full-length, Seattle-area indie rockers Daphne Loves Derby turned to the past to pave their own forward-looking musical path. After returning home from several months of the road life, the foursome opted to immerse themselves with a variety of albums from respected artists like Frank Sinatra, the Eagles, Janis Ian and the Cardigans. It was in these classic albums that the members of Daphne Loves Derby discovered inspiration to forge ahead into crafting it's own future. Though the band traces it's roots to the earlier part of the decade, Daphne Loves Derby is best known for it's 2005 Outlook-released full-length debut, on the Strength of All Convinced. Bolstered by an impressive online presence which continues to this day (as of this writing, the band had nearly 4,000,000 plays on it's MySpace page) on the Strength of All Convinced found many takers and garnered it's share of praise from the music media. Produced by Matt Squire (Panic! At the Disco, Thrice) Good Night, Witness Light picks up right were on the Strength of All Convinced left off. After only two weeks on MySpace, the album's lead single "That's Our Hero Shot" was played over 45,000 times. Daphne Loves Derby has been selling out acoustic shows all along the west coast and will continue touring through the end of the summer. Good Night, Witness Light affirms the quiet sensation that has become Daphne Loves Derby.
