Joseph Israel - Gone Are the Days

Growing up in America's heartland, singer/songwriter Joseph Israel was introduced to reggae music at an early age, a music he'd continue to explore and absorb as he began to nurture his own gifts for music and composing. Once an adult, Joseph found himself in Jamaica with a suite of his own compositions, booking time at Kingston's top studios, including fabled Tuff Gong studios. Assembling the best of Kingston's veteran and young lion musicians - including guitarist Earl "Chinna" Smith, bassist Chris Meredith, saxophonist Dean Fraser, percussionist Sticky Thompson and drummer Squidley Cole - aided by guest singers Luciano and Mikey General and with Bob Marley's former engineer Errol Brown, at the boards, Joseph recorded GONE ARE THE DAYS. Conscious and idealistic, with simple, sweet reflections of love, headline-torn news reports, tales of spiritual awakening and calls for unity, GONE ARE THE DAYS is the budding leaves and branches from the roots.
