'Goes to Eleven' contains 12 original compositions by Paul Baker that cover the spectrum of modern big band jazz - burnin' bebop and beyond, funky hip-hop, ballads in the styles of Duke Ellington and Stan Kenton, warm west coast 'cool school' swing, plus some sambas and New Orleans second line to keep your feet moving. The Baker's Dozen Big Band is comprised of 13 of the finest jazz musicians in Austin, Texas and has been performing once a month at the famous Elephant Room jazz club since 2007. The library is built around the original compositions and arrangements of Paul Baker, but also features pieces from other notable big bands such as Woody Herman, Maynard Ferguson, Duke Ellington, and John Fedchock. The Baker's Dozen Big Band is available for concerts and clinics and all the music on this recording is published by Baker's Jazz And More and is available through your local sheet music retailer. More of Paul Baker's arrangements and compositions are available through Alfred Publishing/Belwin Jazz.
