The tragic passing of saxophonist Art Porter saddened thousands of fans and fellow musicians. A true star, Porter had established himself as a core smooth jazz artist and he hit the Top 10 on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz chart with all 4 of his Verve releases. For Art's Sake features slamming live recordings of Art's signature tunes, previously unreleased remixes and "Mr. Porter," an all-star tribute track performed by Lee Ritenour, Gerald Albright and Jeff Lorber.
