: Jerry Jeff's second album for Atco found him, like many a late-'60s singer/songwriter, in Nashville, where he hooked up with a lot of the same guys (Kenneth Buttrey, Charlie McCoy, Paul Griffin) that backed Dylan when he made a similar move. Eliot Mazer and David Briggs, shortly to produce Neil Young, were also on hand for this album, which went in a little more uptempo, commercial direction than it's predecessor, 'Mr. Bojangles'. It even includes the original version of that song, which, after Walker played it during a November 1967 all-night radio show on New York's public radio station WBAI, resulted in so many listener requests that Atco had Walker re-record it for his debut album on the label.
