Improvised solo piano from one of the originators of the British Free Jazz Movement, originally recorded in June 1981. Howard Riley has devoted himself almost exclusively to free improvisation since the mid-'60's and he sees Duality as the most comprehensive solo album he has made to date. The title indicates the pieces are concerned with both long and short form improvisations.
