About The Band -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The band formed in 1974, in the world-renowned Scappoose (Oregon) music scene, with core members Brian Gardner, Dave Koennecke, Larry Horn, and Jim Horn. A brass section - Jim Turner and Jim Barbeau - was added in the mid-80's. Other band members have drifted in and out over the years, but Bri, Jim, Lar, Jim, Dave, and Jim have proven to be the True Wiener Survivors. Their music? Well, you could teach a monkey to play this stuff: a combination of danceable classic rock and danceable originals. But then, monkeys are where we came from, dude. (At least where I did.) The Wieners have played up and down the West Coast over the years, focusing on the Portland metropolitan area, inciting Wienermania on a regular basis. They've slowed down in the 'touring' department over the years, even spawning grandchildren in their down-time. Still, after thirty years, their legions of Wienermaniacs remain faithful, like human cicadas burrowed in the dirt of mundane human existence, awaiting their chance to rise up and explode upon the landscape in a frenzy of unabashed, joyous rock n' roll ecstasy, just like back in, uh, back in... where was I? Okay, let's wrap it up: the band's good, but no one has ever been possessed of the genius - or insanity - to really market them. So, here's some free samples of raw Wieners. Enjoy.
