From album to album, Guided by Voices have gradually progressed from basement lo-fi wunderkinds to the unmistakably huge kick-ass rock of their latest album, Do the Collapse. Formed in the mid-80s by Dayton, Ohio schoolteacher Robert Pollard, Guided By Voices has dazzled surprised, confounded and amazed both rock critics and America's underground alternative scene. Do the Collapse, makes everything they have done before sound like demoes. Utilizing outside production for an entire album for the first time, Guided By voices recruited producer/pop-genuis Ric Ocasek (The Cars guy), who re-envisioned the ban'ds sound into an explosive barrage of overcharged guitarsand layered vocals, sweeping strings and strange noises. A must hear!!
