I started my musical life in the 3rd grade. The band director said that he needed another trumpet player and would I be interested - I think I said yes, no, I know I said yes.. It was a blast - I stayed with the trumpet all the way through college and played into my teaching career as well. But then there was the guitar. I received my first guitar when I was in the 5th grade. It was an f-hole acoustic Hohner guitar from Sears. I took a few lessons and began teaching myself getting my tips from Bob Dylan, The Byrds, The Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkel...........then the Beatles and Rolling Stones exploded on the scene - I went Electric and it stayed that way all the way through High School - Playing mostly Rock I had a band with my brother called the 'Illychs' until college. In college I branched into Jazz and Classical guitar. I started writing my own music in college. After college I got into more and more songwriting and arranging. I play mostly coffee houses, Borders Books, and some Pub/Bistros. Playing solo most of the time I do my own music. I've recorded 6 CD's, my latest being 'A Little Love, A Million Reasons'. I've just finished two Instrumental projects, 'Dialogues' and 'Waves of Winter'. Another vocal/guitar CD will be coming out soon called, 'Close Your Eyes'.
