Father Peter Bowes' music has always invited listeners into his personal relationship with Jesus and Mother Mary, but in his newest album, Day Breaks, he shares on an entirely different level. The opening track, "His Voice," is most adequately described as a power ballad for Jesus - big drums, soaring chorus and heartrending personal experience. It is really this experience that sets Father Peter's music apart. While many Christian musicians are writing to attain union with God, Father Peter is creating from that place already. As a result, some songs are obviously divinely inspired. "Daughters" is one of them, and it serves to remind listeners of the heartbreaking simplicity of love and where we are at in the world. The album is a continuation of Father Peter's new sound, which departs from the singer/songwriter tradition and launches into a richer, fuller production. Organs, piano, violins and bass all contribute to the evolution of Father Peter's discography. If any album were to truly proclaim God's love for us, it's Day Breaks. Aptly named, it crashes through darkness and reverberate with warmth, feeling and blessings.
