Bringing together tracks recorded for early singles and EP's, Daft is one of the most quietly influential albums of the past twenty years. Primarily produced, performed and written by Trevor Horn, Anne Dudley, Paul Morley and Gary Langan, all now incredibly successful in their own right, Daft largely introduced the now widespread practice of sampling and tape loops. Blending rock, dance and rap beats, Art of Noise have now ironically become one of the most sampled groups in rap, hip-hop and R&B, including the use of Close (To the Edit) by the Ying Yang Twins on the forthcoming track Ghetto Classics. False Tuned. 2005.
