In the spring of 2005, The Snake the Cross the Crown found themselves at a crossroads. After a series of tours with Armor for Sleep, mewithoutYou, Mae & Hot Rod Circuit, the band was building the foundation of a solid fan base in the emerging emorock world. The previous months had brought glittering album reviews, numerous top album mentions and a successful college radio campaign; all the signs of a band poised to break out. With the summer festival circuit booked, the band reached a fork in the road. They had to decide whether to forge ahead, or make the career-altering choice to step back and find their true musical calling. They made the arduous decision, cancelled their shows, and went home. Cotton Teeth is the culmination of a year and a half of introspection, experimentation, and discovery for the four talented young men known as The Snake the Cross the Crown. At a time when bands are exhausting every resource to get to the top, The Snake the Cross the Crown have poured their energy into finding and developing their sound. Honest and unassuming folk inspired rock, stripped of all gimmicks.
