CLUB EVOS is a new direction for Evan Olson. As alter ego 'Evos', he combines his emotional pop rock songs with club/dance grooves. #1 'Shoebox Blues' is a new version of a song that originally appeared on his CD OLSON. #8 'Not What I Wanted' is a new version of a song originally on RED. Evan Olson likes to step into his studio and immerse himself in what he calls his 'imaginary realm.' His base? Greensboro, N.C. a city of 200,000 known more for it's integral role in the Revolutionary War and Civil Rights movement than it's brush with musical creativity. But this comfortable pocket of the progressive South is where Evan finds his inspiration and pushes the very boundaries of his art. As the son of a U.S. Army officer, Evan spent the first 12 years of his life moving from base to base, eventually settling in North Carolina after his father retired. It was a place where Evan fell asleep listening to tunes spilling from the rooms of his older sister and two older brothers: The Police, James Taylor, The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple and The Sex Pistols. His siblings' musical menagerie pointed Evan toward his own creative journey. Along the way he mastered six instruments, fronted one of North Carolina's most popular bands, and learned the intangible art of songwriting.
