The sound of Chicago blues after World War II is usually the sound of the blues band; solo artists continued to work of course, on Maxwell Street and elsewhere, but in the clubs and record studios the amplified ensembles were usually supreme. An integral part of their sound was provided by the piano players, and this CD celebrates the achievements of some of the greatest of Chicago's keyboard artists of the 1950s. From Cobra and Job labels. Fabulous. 2003.
